First introduced in September of 1963, Jaguar’s new S-Type was essentially a development of the Mark II combined with mechanical improvements from the Mark X, chief amongst which was Jaguar’s new independent rear suspension. Both 3.4 and 3.8-litre inline six-cylinder engines were offered, and the new S-Type provided more boot space and headroom, making for a much more luxurious car over its predecessor.
The S-Type Saloon we are offering here is chassis P1B25797DN. It is a factory left-hand-drive example supplied new to Gran Canaria, Spain, in February 1966 by official dealer. Finished in British metal green with green leather interior, the car still retains to this day its original number plates from 1966 ! It was restored by Jaguar Coventry in the United Kingdom in 1991 and comes with the full restoration records in file. In 2016 the car underwent a large service including new brakes and new gas tank by specialists A. Soriano (invoices also available in file), with all parts ordered directly from Martin Robey of England.
